BROCK in California

You may meet and apply to adopt Brock at our ADOPTION EVENT on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in NEWPORT BEACH. adoptpetmatch@gmail.com Brock is a male Cockapoo mix only 1 year of age.  He has gorgeous, shiny black and tan curls that are soft, non-shedding, and hypoallergenic.  His coloring is vivid and beautiful, especially around his face.  Brock has been professionally groomed and currently has a short summer cut.  Brock has an extremely mellow, easy going, and friendly disposition.  He is quite the gentleman.  He is agreeable to pretty much anything and is excellent inside the home.  Brock is quiet and well behaved, wanting simply to keep his family company.  He welcomes guests without barking or jumping, and is happy to greet company with a friendly tail wagging and perhaps a little kiss on the hand.  He is gentle and playful, happily romping in the backyard or enjoying time at the park.  Brock is an eager walking companion and absolutely loves to go places on leash.  He gets all excited when he sees the leash coming out and immediately puts on his big "happy dog" grin.  Brock is a lovely young dog, adorable and great out in public.  He rides nicely in the car and does not bark or get carsick.  He gets along just fine with other dogs, but would also be great as an only dog since he is confident and does not need the support of another dog.  It’s people that Brock loves the most and he promises to make a loyal, affectionate companion for some lucky person or family.  He is good with children and with cats.  Brock is very in tune with people, eager to please, smart, and highly trainable.  He is looking for his forever home today!  You may meet and apply to adopt Brock at our ADOPTION EVENT on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in NEWPORT BEACH located at 1280 Bison Ave., Newport Beach, CA 92660. adoptpetmatch@gmail.comBrock's adoption donation is $350 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). If this dog does not have an appointment set up to meet with a specific adopter we may decide not to bring him/her. So the best way to make sure the dog you are interested in attends is to fill out the application and be pre-approved.Astro is a 1-2 year old Bichon possibly Bichon mix. He weighs about 20lbs which means he's a bit bigger boy. He is best suited for an experienced home as he has recently been returned from a home that was not a good match. Astro is an option to live with other dogs. He is best suited to live with a confident, equally strong willed dog or by himself. He would be too bossy with a milder, meek type of dog. He's very confident and ready to take on the world! Astro could live with cats as well. He is friendly with them but not overly so. He was mildly curious for a few moments and then moved onto new things.Astro has a non-shedding coat that is an option for those who have allergies. He will require regular grooming. He wasn't well cared for previously but with a great groomer she was able to save a lot of his coat. He was rescued from the shelter where he was listed as a stray. We don't know his previous history but we know his future is very bright! Astro is crate trained.A healthy pet is a happy pet! Protect your pet's health with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance and save up to 90% on your vet bills. Visit www.healthypawspetinsurance.com for your free quote (use code DPSRescue for a special discount) and learn how your protected pet helps save more homeless pets!**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

Bo* in California

Poor Bo. He was in terrible condition when he arrived at my house. He had to be shaved because his hair was so matted and filled with burrs and foxtails. Once shaved, we realized that he is extremely thin and had foxtails buried in his skin. Bo is very shy and scared right now. I suspect he may have been abused, as well as neglected. He is still not feeling well, so I am not sure how much of that will go away once he is well. Every day, he gets a little more comfortable and I can tell that he is going to be a complete love when he is all better. Bo just needs a patient home that will make him feel like a secure part of the family. Bo is potty trained and is fine in a crate. You can see Bo's shelterYoutube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILaWj_4BlAI&feature=youtu.be for now. I will be posting new pictures and video of him soon, but in the meantime, please feel free to email me with questions at vineyardpups@gmail.com or call me at 707-761-4698 (Jillian) Please use the contact at the bottom of the listing for more info about this dog. (Lhasa Apso) Tito - Small - Male

(Lhasa Apso) Tito - Small - Male

Tito
Tito was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. His family was going through a split, and neither party was able to keep him. He was surrendered with his sister Lexi (also on the site) who is a cockapoo. Tito is very cuddly and loves to snuggle up next to a comfy body. He is housetrained, excellent with other dogs, cats, and kids. He enjoys walks, playing in the yard, and grumbling. Tito doesn't have a mean bone in his body but he grumbles off and on. He is truly a sweet boy and would love to have his very own family once again. Tito sat by the gate waiting for his owner to return. It is heartwrenching to watch his face and know how broken hearted he is. His owner was just as broken hearted to surrender him. Lhasa's live to be 15 to 18 years so Tito has plenty of life and love to go. He is a very healthy little boy. After spending time with Tito and Lexi, it is very apparent how bonded they are, and how much they look out for one another. I believe it would be best to keep them together, and we would be willing to offer a reduced adoption fee for the 2 of them.

(Cockapoo) Lexi - Small - Female

Lexi
Lexi is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Her family was splitting up and neither party was able to take her. She was surrendered with her brother Tito ( a lhasa apso on our site.) Lexi is a very sweet girl who enjoys romping around the yard and getting attention. Lexi is not pesty nor hyper in the least. She is great with kids, dogs, and cats. Lexi sat at the gate and whimpered and cried waiting for her owner to return. It is very heart breaking to watch and know, that they have no understanding of whats going on or why their owners are not returning. Lexi's owner was very heart broken to give them up as well. Although Lexi is going on 5 years old, her life expectancy is 15-18 years. Lexi has a whole life ahead of her. After spending time with Lexi and Tito, it is very apparent how bonded they are and how much they watch out for one another. It would be best if Lexi and Tito could stay together. We will give a reduced fee for the adoption of both.

Our daily expenses have been getting higher as the number of "un-adoptable" rescues in our shelter grows constantly. We have a number of 'permanent resident' rescues in our care that need daily medications, expensive shoeing and special feeds, just to name a few. We are entirely volunteer run and we DO NOT have free or "reduced cost' veterinary care. 100% of all adoption fees goes to the care & needs of our animals at the shelter. We encourage you to visit our website and learn about who we are before calling to make an appointment. PLEASE BE KIND, DO NOT CALL AFTER HOURS AS IT RINGS THROUGH TO OUR PRIVATE RESIDENCE FOR EMERGENCIES.! THANK YOU!! PLEASE CALL US THE SAME DAY (!!) YOU PLAN TO COME VISIT/ADOPT THE PUPPY OF YOUR CHOICE TO MAKE SURE THIS PUPPY IS STILL AVAILABLE. THERE IS NO NEED TO VISIT OR CALL DAYS OR WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR ADOPTING SINCE WE CANNOT HOLD A PUPPY. WE ONLY SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS FOR THE SAME DAY THAT YOU PLAN TO ADOPT as we can only hold a puppy the same day you are actually on your way to come & meet him/her. If this puppy is still listed it means either he/she or a sibling is still available. BEFORE CALLING PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:THANK YOU!! REMEMBER: This pet is going to be your new family member and wants to be with you for the rest of its life. Make sure your landlord AND your lifestyle allow for this puppy. We will ask questions, please do not be offended. We just want to make sure your puppy will be a good fit for life. Do not buy a puppy on a whim, because she is sooo cute or as a gift for someone else!! Once your new puppy goes home with you, he/she wants to love you and be yours forever! They love unconditionally, please understand they are not perfect!! Don't give up on your pet when something goes wrong... life happens & there is always a solution.. If you call and make an appointment, please be kind and let us know if you cannot make it as we are making this a dedicated time for YOU. All our puppies are raised with the expectation to find a home for them where they will be allowed inside and be part of a family. We give them a first understanding of what that means: They know that they have to behave inside the house and respect their human's belongings, All puppies can be taught good housemanners, it is up to you how much effort you are willing to put into raising a well mannered puppy. When you pay the adoption fee for your dog, you are helping to support Saint Francis Sanctuary Animal Rescues efforts to continue saving dogs & puppies, horses & other critters from kill-shelters or other uncertain futures. 100% of your adoption fee is used for the care of all the animals at this shelter. We are trying to break the vicious cycle of puppy over-population by paying to have the "momma dog" spayed when we take in a litter of puppies .Per FLORIDA LAW ST.812.15 we also request that your new puppy (if he/she is too young at time of adoption) will be spayed/neutered once it reaches the appropriate age. You will have to sign a legally binding contract to that effect. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will help Saint Francis Sanctuary save more dogs, puppies and horses.Saint Francis Sanctuary Rescue is entirely volunteer-run, a non-for-profit Animal Rescue group whose mission is to save horses, dogs and puppies and countless other small critters. We do not have any financial support and our adoption fees are the only way we can pay feed bills, veterinary care, and build shelters, kennels & fencing. We have fostered & adopted birds, cats, dogs, horses & all kinds of barnyard animals, squirrels, turtles and even fish! If we have room for it we will help! Please call Saint Francis Sanctuary at 407-450-6716. If you can't reach us please keep trying as we are always busy with puppies & horses. Please do not email as we are receiving tons of emails daily and there is just not enough time in the day..:)All our puppies and dogs have had their shots and been de-wormed. You can reach us 7 days a week until 7:00 PM by phone. Visits are by appointment only. We are located North of Ocala, just 3 miles off I-75 exit #368 and Hwy 441.

Mitt and Matt

These puppies are not ready to leave rescue and will be neutered and get another round of distemper/parvo vaccinations before doing so. Born approx. Feb. 25th to Johanna (also posted with our rescue), they are learning to be independent of mom. Dad is a blonde cockapoo. We have no way of knowing their adult size but since mom weighs 13 lbs. and dad is about 15 it's likely they could fall in that range, too, at maturity. We are estimating they can go home by May 1. Applications will be accepted, visits can be scheduled. We do not adopt to families who choose to leave their pets outside either in a fenced yard unattended or tethered outside all alone. If this is your intention, do not apply. Our fur-kids are very special to us and deserve no less than to live and be treated as one of the family and enjoy the comforts of year round heat and air conditioning. We only adopt to responsible individuals who value the life of a kid in fur as they would their own child or family member. Take the first step in bringing a new fur-ever friend into your home by completing the free online Adoption Application today.

Winston--Adoption Pending!
*****ADOPTION PENDING!***** Winston is a lovable and slightly klutzy Cockapoo, who will nap quietly in your lap for hours, if you let him. He looks and feels like a plush toy doggie. He loves chew toys and getting a treat out of his Kong toy. Winston weighs about 17 lbs. and guesstimated at 4-5 yrs. Although he'll bark at strangers, I don't think he has a mean bone in his body. He is Heartworm Negative! He's current on rabies vaccination and all his shots, and his kennel cough vaccine. Winston will do his business outside; we don't have a nice grassy yard, so sometimes he still chooses to use the "potty" papers indoors. Winston's kneecaps wobble around a bit (luxating patella) but it doesn't bother him in the least. Note: All applications are processed in the order received, but an adoption is made to the best application received for each of our animals. All applicants must provide a vet reference on the adoption application. If you are adopting a dog from ARFA, a fenced in yard for the dog will be required. Home visits often occur on each adoption. ARFA has the right to deny adoption to any applicant for any reason without explanation. Please remember that the adoption fee is not for purchase of a dog, but rather to cover the medical cost of all dogs in our care.
