Astro in California

Not all dogs go to our events. Pls read entire biography before emailing. We do adoptions in different areas of CA and Las Vegas *NO CA: Adoptions on Saturday, August 18th at Blossom Hill Pet Food Express from 12noon to 5pm. Come join us at the Bark-B-Q adoption event. *Las Vegas: If interested in a dog, please submit an application. *So. CA: We do adoptions throughout the week and on the weekends by appointment when an applicant has filled out an application. If interested in one of our dogs, please read the biography and then fill out the application in order to proceed. **Please see note at the very bottom of the page regarding adoptions. * All dogs are spayed or neutered, shots current (DHPPC, Bordatella and Rabies), heartworm tested negative and are microchipped.* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application.* We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted.* We do not ship our dogs for any reason.* Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy.* If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue This dog will be shown for adoption on Saturday, August 18th at Blossom Hill Pet Food Express, 1152 Blossom Hill Road, San Jose from 12noon to 5pm. If you wish to have the first opportunity to meet this dog, please fill out an application. If this dog does not have an appointment set up to meet with a specific adopter we may decide not to bring him/her. So the best way to make sure the dog you are interested in attends is to fill out the application and be pre-approved.Astro is a 1-2 year old Bichon possibly Bichon mix. He weighs about 20lbs which means he's a bit bigger boy. He is best suited for an experienced home as he has recently been returned from a home that was not a good match. Astro is an option to live with other dogs. He is best suited to live with a confident, equally strong willed dog or by himself. He would be too bossy with a milder, meek type of dog. He's very confident and ready to take on the world! Astro could live with cats as well. He is friendly with them but not overly so. He was mildly curious for a few moments and then moved onto new things.Astro has a non-shedding coat that is an option for those who have allergies. He will require regular grooming. He wasn't well cared for previously but with a great groomer she was able to save a lot of his coat. He was rescued from the shelter where he was listed as a stray. We don't know his previous history but we know his future is very bright! Astro is crate trained.A healthy pet is a happy pet! We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
